Corruption is found to be one of the most damaging consequences of poor governance system. It is characterized by lack of both transparency and accountability. Corruption lowers investment and hinders economic growth also human development. It also limits access to basic social services as well as increases the cost of their delivery.

The Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated from 26th October to 31st October, 2015 by AICTE. The theme for the Vigilance Awareness this year is “Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance”. The Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated every year and coincides with the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known to be a man of high integrity.

 

As a part of Vigilance Awareness on 28th of October, T.John Institute of Management and Science has organized a debate on “Value Crisis amongst youth is responsible for lack of honesty in Society” and also organized Essay writing on“Corruption –The biggest bottleneck in economic progress”

The purpose of Vigilance Awareness Week is to generate awareness among the students at large about the adverse effects of corruption and the message of preventive vigilance in the young minds will be in a position to influence the society at large.
