On 28th September 2015, the Department of Computer Applications organized a guest lecture on “Testing of Hypothesis” by Mrs. Mohini Bhat.
A hypothesis test is a statistical test that is used to determine whether there is enough evidence in a sample of data to infer that a certain condition is true for the entire population. Students of 3rd semester MCA were exposed to this topic, as they had relevant concept in their subject. During this lecture, students were briefed about concepts of hypothesis, its types, error types and much more. It was a session with more of hypothesis knowledge delivered to the student, making them clearer about the topic – more over the students found the guest lecture very informative and useful for their further research methodology.
